The Houston Astros stunned the MLB community with a four-pitcher no-hitter Saturday night.

After the high of that achievement, however, the clubhouse was hit with some heavy news that pitching coach Brent Strom had to be rushed to the hospital for surgery due to gastrointestinal issues.

Manager AJ Hinch shared the news Sunday, noting the surgery was successful, that Strom is now “resting comfortably with his wife,” and that Strom will “miss the next few days.”

Hinch concluded by saying, “Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and a speedy recovery for Strom.”

Strom, 70, is a former pitcher who has been with Houston since the 2014 season.
