Arrest warrant for Rams RB Tre Mason withdrawn

That whole excuse about stuff getting lost in the mail. Well, it appears that Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason successfully used this as a defense after a judge in Florida throw out the arrest warrant that was given to the young ball carrier last week.

Mason, 22, was arrested last month in Florida on charges of resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and failure to register a motor vehicle. When he did not show up for a scheduled court hearing last week, a Broward County judge issued a bench warrant for Mason’s arrest.

Mason’s lawyer,  H.T. Smith, filed a motion in court on Friday requesting that the warrant be withdrawn because the authorities sent his client’s notice to appear to the wrong address.

That request was accepted on Monday after records showed that the letter was returned to the court two weeks after being sent (via Los Angeles Daily News).

This is good news for Mason and the Rams, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s still facing multiple misdemeanor charges and could still be suspended by the NFL.
