Anthony Davis and his New Orleans Pelicans were in Oakland to take on the defending champion Golden State Warriors Wednesday evening.

Davis’ agent, Rich Paul, took in the game at Oracle. Interestingly, he decided to sit next to the Warriors’ bench.

More interesting? Paul was seen chatting up Warriors star Kevin Durant and general manager Bob Myers.

This could be nothing more than a social call. Paul is one of the most powerful agents in the business. Why wouldn’t he be chatting up Durant and Myers?

On the other hand, there’s a little backstory here. Golden State’s interest in potentially trading for Davis is well known. Davis himself is set to become a free agent after the 2019-20 season.

New Orleans might deny that it’s looking to trade him before he exits the Bayou in free agency. But speculation continues to come up about a potential departure.

That makes this meet-and-greet much more interesting than what it would seem on the surface.
