Andrew Wiggins and the Golden State Warriors are coming off a frustrating 2023-24 season. It culminated in a blowout loss to the in-state rival Sacramento Kings in the NBA Play-In Tournament.
It will also lead to some major changes as it relates to the Warriors’ roster this summer. Reports indicate that general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Co. are looking to add win-now players. Wiggins could be used as bait to lure that type of talent to San Francisco as a way to maximize the twilight of Stephen Curry’s career.
A major component to the Warriors’ last title run less than two years ago, the 29-year-old Wiggins is coming off the worst statistical performance of his career.

Based on that performance and Wiggins’ four-year, $109 million contract; some might believe that he doesn’t have much trade value.
While that might be the case, he does boast some history as an elite-level three-and-D wing. From 2019-23 with the Warriors, Wiggins averaged 17.7 points on 39% shooting from distance. He also boasted a combined defensive win shares of 7.4 during this span.

Andrew Wiggins trade scenarios from the Golden State Warriors
- Toronto Raptors: Known as “Maple Jordan,” Wiggins making his way back to Canada has seemingly been in the cards for some time. He’d be a good fit with the likes of R.J. Barrett and Scottie Barnes for the retooling Raptors. Golden State sweetens the post with Moses Moody while acquiring veteran center Jakob Poeltl and bench option Chris Boucher from the Raptors.
- Miami Heat: After more postseason struggles, there is a real good chance that the Heat look to move on from the high-scoring Herro for a more-evolved player. Simply put, Andrew Wiggins is better as an all-around option next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in South Beach. A one-for-one swap with more salary heading to Miami would seem to make sense here.
- Washington Wizards: After finishing this past season with a 15-67 record, the Wizards are going nowhere fast. It might now finally be time to move off their best asset to continue with a rebuild. Kuzma (22.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 4.2 APG in 2023-24) is that asset. In this scenario, Golden State offers up Andrew Wiggins and a future first-round pick to make it worth Washington’s trouble.
