Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa entered the 2019 college football season as pretty much a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick in next April’s NFL Draft.

Heck, teams have been planning for the possibility of selecting him for more than a calendar year.

Unfortunately, the serious hip injury Tua suffered last month has impacted his draft stock quite a bit. Potentially out throughout the 2020 season depending on his rehab, Tagovailoa still has not committed to entering the draft.

At a press conference on Thursday, Tua indicated that there’s no timeline for him to make a decision.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft is Jan. 20. Tua obviously still has some time.

There’s certainly some logic behind the quarterback potentially returning for his senior season. If Tagovailoa believes he can suit up in 2020, it would only help his draft stock. There’s also the belief that he sees unfinished business in Tuscaloosa.

As electric as they come on the football field, Tua has tallied 83 total touchdowns and just nine interceptions since the start of last season.

His draft decision will be a major story to follow over the next couple weeks throughout both the college football and NFL worlds.
