Tua Tagovailoa surgery successful, ‘prognosis is excellent’

Tua Tagovailoa was in Houston Monday morning to undergo surgery on his right hip, and according to Dr. Lyle Cain the “prognosis is excellent.”

Alabama released a statement from Dr. Cain, who said “The procedure went as planned, and he is resting comfortably. Tua’s prognosis is excellent, and we expect him to make a full recovery.”

This is obviously the best possible news for Tagovailoa and his family. Early reports were grim, as it was noted his hip injury was similar to the one that ended Bo Jackson’s career.

At this point, any football talk is on the back burner. Tagovailoa will begin rehab after he returns to Tuscaloosa in the next several days.
