When the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Tampa Bay for a wild card matchup with the Buccaneers, they will be without one of their main receiving threats.

Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was ruled out of Monday’s contest with a knee injury, according to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Brown didn’t practice all week, but Garafolo says he could play in the divisional round if the Eagles advance.

The three-time Pro Bowler’s services are needed for an Eagles team that has struggled after starting the year with a 10-1 record. Brown and the Eagles lost five of their last six games to end the season and have looked nothing like the preseason Super Bowl favorite they once were.

In his second season with the Eagles, Brown recorded a career-high 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. After three seasons with the Tennessee Titans, he was traded to the Eagles in 2022 for a first and third-round pick.

After the trade was complete, Brown signed a four-year, $100 million contract with the NFC East team. His arrival paid immense dividends, as he recorded career-highs with 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and provided quarterback Jalen Hurts with a No. 1 wide receiver.

The Eagles thrived with Brown as they made it to Super Bowl 57. While they fell to the Chiefs 38-35, Brown played well with six catches for 96 yards and one score. Now, they’ll have to find a way to move on without him.
