The Philadelphia Eagles might have to defend their conference championship without one of their best players.

During Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, star wide receiver A.J. Brown went down with a right knee injury. He initially went into the medical tent on the sideline before heading to the locker room.

Brown is initially listed as questionable to return. However, the scene as he was holding his right knee while on the turf seems to suggest that this injury is more severe than what his initial diagnosis is.

The injury came via a hip-drop tackle that the NFL is considering banning moving forward. We’ve seen injuries of this ilk happen throughout the season, leading to a ton of questions about whether they should continue to be allowed.

As for Brown and his Eagles, they must win against the Giants on Sunday with the Dallas Cowboys losing to the Washington Commanders in order to win the NFC East.

If these two scenarios don’t happen, the struggling Eagles will be forced to head to Tampa Bay for a road game against the Buccaneers during NFL Wild Card Weekend.

We’ll have updates on this injury as they become available. For now, there are several nervous people in Philadelphia.
