Aaron Rodgers looking to defy Achilles injury recovery timetable in quick return to New York Jets

When Aaron Rodgers tore his right Achilles in the season opener versus the Buffalo Bills, many thought his first season with the New York Jets was finished. That belief may be true to some, but not to the four-time NFL MVP, who’s looking to return later in the year, per Jay Glazer.

On Fox’s NFL Thanksgiving Pregame show, Glazer reported that the 39-year-old quarterback is looking to defy the recovery timetable and return to the lineup regardless of whether the Jets are in playoff contention or not.

The Jets are currently 4-6 and recently benched former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson for Tim Boyle, who’s set to make his first start Friday against the Miami Dolphins.

Rodgers was traded to the Jets in April after spending 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, where he won the Super Bowl in 2010. Heading into 2023, the Jets were viewed as a Super Bowl contender with a stout defense and an offense loaded with talent, but the scoring attack averages the third-fewest points per game entering Week 12.
