There’s been a longstanding rivalry between the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. Both teams were mentioned as potential landing spots for Richard Sherman after he was released by the Seattle Seahwks, but obviously the All-Pro cornerback landed with in San Francisco.

Well, on Sunday after officially announcing Sherman’s three-year contract, which was reported on Saturday, the 49ers trolled their cross-town rivals in a big way.

Just check out the highlight the team’s social media staff chose.

That was 100 percent deliberate, and we love it. What’s really great about this is that, not only will Sherman and the 49ers be playing against Oakland in 2018, but the cornerback will be matched up against his old rival Michael Crabtree, assuming he’s still a member of the Raiders.

So, that highlight might be some serious foreshadowing of what’s to come.

This upcoming season is going to be darn exciting for fans in Northern California. Both teams have high expectations and the 49ers are not done adding top talent in free agency.
