San Francisco 49ers running back Tevin Coleman suffered an extremely painful dislocated shoulder during the NFC Championship Game but is working toward playing in Super Bowl LIV.
Described as a “Lethal Weapon” dislocation, Coleman had to be carted off the field during last Sunday’s game at Levi’s Stadium. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan wouldn’t rule out his running back, and on Thursday Coleman was on the practice field doing individual range-of-motion work.
According to Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News, that work “looked encouraging.”
Though the hot hand for the 49ers at the moment belongs to Raheem Mostert, Coleman was the star of the team’s divisional-round win over the Minnesota Vikings. He has the ability to get red hot and would obviously give the 49ers another dynamic weapon against the Kansas City Chiefs, who can score seemingly at will.
