The Seattle Seahawks made a major move trading for All-Pro safety Jamal Adams. It’s a deal that significantly improves their defense and should help them contend in the uber-competitive NFC West. Just don’t expect San Francisco 49ers star receiver Deebo Samuel to be quivering in his cleats this coming season.
Deebo Samuel chimes in about the Jamal Adams trade on Twitter
On Saturday evening, Samuel took to Twitter with a rather salty take on the Adams trade. He made it crystal clear that he’s not scared of facing the big-hitting safety twice a year.
Set to enter his second season as a pro, the former South Carolina star made a huge impact on the 49ers as a rookie. He racked up 961 yards and six touchdowns from scrimmage in the regular season, 229 yards from scrimmage in the postseason and was arguably the first-half MVP in Super Bowl 54.
He’s also one of the toughest dudes to tackle in the NFL.
Unfortunately Samuel is recovering from a foot injury that required surgery while training for camp this summer. As a result, he could miss the first few games of the 2020 NFL season.
49ers and Seahawks don’t play until late in 2020 NFL schedule
The good news? Samuel and Adams will square off much later in the season. Looking at the 2020 NFL schedule, the two stars will see one another during Week 8 in Seattle, and then again in Week 17 to close out the season on Jan. 3 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
