The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans are preparing for the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens this coming Sunday with heavy hearts.

Tragedy struck the Chiefs community earlier in January when three fans were found dead in the backyard of a house what was hosting a watch party for a game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Jan. 7.

According to this report from Yahoo!, Jordan Willis hosted the party for his friends in his Kansas City home. Following the Chiefs’ win, Willis said he told his friends that he was going to bed. But allegedly said that they could hang out if they wanted.

It wasn’t until two days later when the fiancée of one of the men came looking for him. That’s when she discovered the bodies on the back porch. The weather in Kansas City that day included a low of 32 degrees.

Police arrived on the scene and were greeted by Willis holding an empty glass of wine while only wearing his underwear. He claims that his friends froze to death. But did not know they were out back.

The three friends were identified as David Harrington, Ricky Johnson, and Clayton McGeeney. Their families now want answers.

“Just the thought of him dying and them him sitting outside in the cold for two days,” the cousins of one of those who died told Fox 4 in Kansas City . “It’s extremely devastating, the whole family is messed up. He was such a good person.”

Allegedly, Willis’ attorney claimed that he watched the men leave the house as he went to bed. But then the lawyer told authorities that he never saw them leave. These inconsistencies have family members looking for answers.

“Nobody believes this story,” Harrington’s mother Jennifer Marquez said, according to DailyMail, adding, “None of his friends, none of the families, none of us believe it. Everybody is furious.”

It’s obviously not yet known what happened. That won’t come for some time, if at all. For now, the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for another AFC Championship Game with major questions surrounding four of their fans.
