The 2024 Stanley Cup Final will be contested between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers after each team won its respective conference final series in six games.

The best-of-7 series to crown the NHL champion this season will begin on Saturday, June 8, in Sunrise, Florida. A potential Game 7, if necessary, is scheduled for Monday, June 24, also in Florida.

The Panthers, who finished the 2023-24 regular season first in the Atlantic Division, have home-ice advantage because they had more points during the season (110) than the Oilers (104), who were second in the Pacific Division.

It will be Florida’s second straight trip to the Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers lost in five games to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023. The Oilers are appearing in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006, and for the first time in the Connor McDavid era.

To reach the Cup Final, the Panthers won three straight one-goal games to close out the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Final. And the Oilers also rallied from 2-1 down in the series to knock off the Dallas Stars in six games.

The Panthers were 2-0-0 against the Oilers during the regular season. They won 5-3 at home on Nov. 20, when Kevin Stenlund had a goal and two assists and defenseman Niko Mikkola scored twice. Then on Dec. 16 in Edmonton, the Panthers won 5-1, when Carter Verhaeghe scored two goals and added an assist.
