We’re not 100% sure what was happening behind the scenes between top free-agent signing Vic Beasley and his new Tennessee Titans team.
What we do know is that Beasley had not reported to camp in Nashville for unspecified reasons and was not in contact with the team’s brass. That changed on Friday, long after Titans players reported for physicals and COVID-19 testing.
Vic Beasley finally reports to Titans training camp
Beasley, 28, signed a one-year, $9.5 million deal with Tennessee this past spring after spending his first five NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
The former top-10 pick had an up-and-down career in Atlanta, leading the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2016 before struggling the next two seasons. The Clemson product bounced back in 2019, recording eight sacks for Atlanta.
The EDGE rusher is expected to play an important role for Tennessee in 2020. He’s slated to start opposite Harold Landry for a squad that earned a surprise trip to the AFC Championship Game last season.
