Clippers’ Lou Williams being investigate by NBA for hitting up strip club?

Clippers Lou Williams in game against Lakers

This could potentially have some wide-ranging ramifications for a championship contending Los Angeles Clippers squad once the 2019-20 NBA season resumes in Orlando late next week.

It was previously noted that star sixth man Lou Williams left the Walt Disney World bubble earlier this week to tend to a personal matter. Unfortunately, this could cost him big time.

NBA investigating Lou Williams for alleged presence at strip club

According to the embedded report from ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Williams has already talked to NBA security about where he was the night in question.

“Sources told ESPN that Williams has been interviewed by NBA security about his whereabouts while he was away from campus, and told them he did go to the Magic City gentleman’s club for a short time on Thursday night,” the report read.

This obviously isn’t great news for a Clippers team that’s already down to 10 players ahead of their season resuming against the Los Angeles Lakers July 30.

NBA bubble rules are real

If a player were to leave the bubble for reasons deemed justified, he’d still have to quarantine until testing negative for COVID-19 twice. Leaving the bubble to go to a strip club is a completely different monster. It remains to be seen just how this will impact Williams and the Clippers once the season resumes. But it does not look great.

Williams, 33, is averaging 18.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 5.7 assists on 48% shooting from the field this season. Needless to say, the three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner is an important part of the Clippers’ roster.

If true, this obviously shows less than stellar judgement on Williams’ part.
