Recently-acquired Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar is in some legal hot water after an arrest warrant was obtained for him Thursday in Florida.
The warrant stems from an alleged incident at a cookout earlier in the week in which Dunbar and New York Giants corner Deandre Baker allegedly robbed a number of unnamed individuals at gunpoint.
Dunbar, 27, is facing four counts of armed robbery. Hours after Baker turned himself in to authorities, Seattle’s defensive back has followed suit, according to his lawyer Michael Grieco.
Dunbar is obviously maintaining his innocence through his attorney, claiming a miscarriage of justice in the process.
“Today our client Quintin Dunbar voluntarily surrendered at the Broward County jail pursuant to a bogus arrest warrant based solely on uncorroborated witness statements that have since been recanted,” Dunbar’s attorney wrote in a statement. “As I write this an innocent man sits in jail, facing charges that hold no water.”
Dunbar is set to appear in jail Sunday morning. He faces several years in prison if convicted.
