The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly landing a fifth-round pick in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, who will bring running back Matt Breida on board.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news of this draft-day trade:
Breida had been one of the players mentioned as a potential asset the 49ers would move in a trade during the draft, so it’s not surprising they moved him to acquire another pick.
A former undrafted rookie out of Georgia Southern, Breida should instantly challenge for playing time in the new Tua Tagovailoa-led Dolphins offense. He rushed for 1,902 yards and six touchdowns the past three seasons for the 49ers and is electric in the open field.
