The Cincinnati Bengals selected reigning Heisman winner Joe Burrow No. 1 overall in last week’s 2020 NFL Draft. The move was made with the future on their mind.
Despite this, there’s every reason to believe that we will see Burrow under center sooner rather than later. The former LSU standout indicated recently that he fully expects to be the Bengals’ starting quarterback as a rookie this coming season.
Cincinnati has longtime starter Andy Dalton on its roster. Though, he’s been in the trade block in recent months and could potentially be released outright.
Burrow seems to be pro ready following an historical season with the Tigers that led to the team winning the national title.
He also has a nice mix of skill-position players in that of running back Joe Mixon, future Hall of Fame wide receiver A.J. Green and fellow rookie Tee Higgins.
