Without pro days taking place around the nation this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some big-name NFL draft prospects are reportedly being hurt in a big way.
Albert Breer of The MMQB shared Monday that some top defensive linemen are among those “that’ll be hurt by the lack of pro days and 30 visits” this year.
“Highly-regarded defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw (South Carolina), Yatur Gross-Matos (Penn State) and Justin Madubuike (Texas A&M) all have issues teams want to reconcile, and haven’t been able to,” Breer wrote. “Questions have hovered on Colorado WR Laviska Shenault’s speed, and he didn’t run at the combine, so now he won’t be able to get a verified time out there for teams. And with Missouri TE Albert Okwuegbunam, who posted a 4.49 in the 40 in Indy, there’s a disconnect between his potential and production that teams wanted answers on.”
The NFL is shut down in a big way with team facilities closed, and the process to evaluate draft prospects has changed dramatically.

General managers have made it clear they want the league to move the 2020 NFL Draft back due to the ongoing challenges. However, the NFL is determined to forge ahead, and the decision could end up costing some young men millions of dollars.
