The NFL is determined to forge ahead with free agency as scheduled, despite the growing coronavirus threat that has much of the nation hunkering down for the long haul.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that the NFL sent a memo to teams letting them know that the legal tampering period will go on as planned starting at noon Monday, with the new league starting on Wednesday.
This was the expectation of NFL people earlier on Sunday, despite some voicing their opinion that free agency would get pushed back.
The big issue will be that contracts cannot be finalized until physicals are done, and it’s going to be interesting to see if everything ends up being pending physicals as travel around the nation has been discouraged as COVID-19 continues to spread.
