Fans dunked on 76ers so hard over reversing course on salary reductions during pandemic

Philadelphia 76ers rumors: What's next after Al Horford trade?

The Philadelphia 76ers have reversed course on their ill-conceived plan to cut employee salaries during the NBA shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The news was reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who shared a quote from Sixers ownership.

The idea to cut salaries was never going to go over well. That’s something the Sixers found out real fast.

From the start, the 76ers were widely mocked and shamed on social media after the initial news broke on Monday. Because, after all, a multi-billion-dollar organization cutting salaries of employees while the world hunkers down amid a pandemic just reeks of greed and selfishness.

After the franchise’s decision to reverse course, many took the opportunity to express their reactions on Twitter, with many rejoicing over the fact that public shaming had its desired effect.
