Many people in St. Louis are still extremely bitter that Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke moved his team out of Missouri, and they showed it Sunday. At Sunday’s XFL game between the St. Louis BattleHawks and New York Guardians, fans broke out into a loud chant of “Kroenke sucks!” as they entered the same stadium the Rams used to call home.
Kroenke has been the target of a huge lawsuit centered around his decision to relocate the franchise to Los Angeles after the 2015 season. The Rams were beloved by the city of St. Louis, and fan support wasn’t a big reason to leave. Instead, Kroenke was all about landing a shiny new stadium in California, which is set to open this coming summer with a hefty price tag that nearly hit $5 billion.
