Report: Raiders, Colts looking to trade up for a QB

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft Dolphins

A lot has been made about both the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders looking for new quarterbacks.

Neither team is happy with its current starting signal caller. For the Colts, that could mean adding someone like Philip Rivers to replace Jacoby Brissett.

Las Vegas is also in on Rivers, but is said to be targeting six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. Either way, Derek Carr is unlikely to be back next season.

The interesting dynamic here is that both teams are said to be looking to trade up into the top five of the 2020 NFL Draft for a quarterback. This report comes to us from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport mentions the Miami Dolphins, too. However, that’s been known for some time.

In terms of the Raiders and Colts, Las Vegas has more assets to move up. It boasts two first-round picks (12th and 19th overall). Indy owns the 13th overall selection and two second-round picks.

This report seemingly pushes back against the idea that Jon Gruden and the Raiders are not high on former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
