Report: Raiders not high on Tua Tagovailoa, could target lesser-known QBs

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft Dolphins

The Las Vegas Raiders’ quarterback situation has been a major topic of discussion with NFL free agency starting in a few weeks.

Despite public support for Derek Carr, the Raiders are likely going to trade him this offseason. They have also been linked to big-name impending free agents in that of Tom Brady and Philip Rivers.

Either way we spin it, the Raiders are likely going to draft a quarterback early come April.

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, it won’t be in a trade-up scenario for Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Simply put, head coach Jon Gruden is not high enough on Tua to move up from the 12th selection.

Rather, the Raiders are said to be interested Utah State quarterback Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts from Oklahoma. They are more focused on mobile signal callers.

Both Love and Hurts are seen as projects. Each one could potentially be had with the Raiders’ second first-round pick, No. 19 overall.
