Report: Ben Simmons to undergo further testing, out for Monday’s game

Ben Simmons

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons exited early during Saturday night’s blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks after sustaining a lower-back injury.

It did not look great. Simmons was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the same after being seen in pain.

We now have an update. Simmons underwent an initial evaluation in Philadelphia on Sunday and undergo further tests on Monday. He’s out for at least Philadelphia’s next game against the Atlanta Hawks.

This obviously isn’t great news for the struggling Sixers. Despite receiving criticism this season, the 23-year-old Simmons is averaging 16.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists on 59% shooting from the field.

Philadelphia needs their point forward back in the mix here soon if it has any hopes of landing a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately, it does not look great right now.
