Angels owner ‘quite upset’ over Dodgers holding up trade

Angels, trade

It’s not often the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels trade with each other. It might be a while before the cross-town rivals make another deal again with Angels owner Arte Moreno reportedly upset over the Dodgers holding up the trade for Joc Pederson.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, Moreno is displeased at the Dodgers’ front office for not yet going through with the agreed-upon trade for Pederson and pitcher Ross Stripling.

Of course, the Dodgers are likely dealing with their own trade frustrations. Los Angeles’ three-team blockbuster deal to acquire Mookie Betts and David Price is on hold over medical concerns. The Boston Red Sox are concerned over medicals for Minnesota Twins pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol and are reportedly seeking another top prospect from the Twins to complete the blockbuster trade.

While the Twins, Dodgers and Red Sox still expect to complete their blockbuster trade this weekend, the delay has now put the Angels in a holding pattern as well. Moreno clearly wants Stripling and Pederson to be able to report for spring training with their new team, especially since they will be key pieces this season.
