NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was in Las Vegas last week and pretty much indicated that it’s now officially the Las Vegas Raiders.
That won’t technically become official until the start of the new league year in March. But everything is settling in as the Raiders relocate from Oakland.
This now includes head coach Jon Gruden touring Allegiant Stadium in the desert metropolis. The photos are not noteworthy. The symbolism sure is.
As upset as fans in Northern California are over the Raiders’ decision to relocate, those in Vegas are equally as hyped.
Heck, the Raiders have already sold out of their personal seat licenses for their inaugural season in Nevada.
The Raiders will officially rebrand as Las Vegas come March. One month later, the 2020 NFL Draft will be held in Sin City.
If nothing else, Gruden’s presence in Las Vegas brings this closer to home. After all, his love affair with the city of Oakland is already well known.
