J.J. Watt feels good after practicing in pads for first time since injury

Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt hasn’t played since October, but he’s back in action and feeling good ahead of the team’s first playoff game.

Watt, who was activated by Houston ahead of the postseason, practiced in pads for the first time since suffering a torn pectoral. He shared in a media session that he’s feeling good physically, and that he feels good about the team’s plan for him to return to action.

Watt also opened up a bit about what it means to him to be back in action for his team at this critical time.

His teammates are certainly glad to have him back.

“I’m glad to have him back for sure,” Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil said after Watt delivered a speech to his teammates on Tuesday, per the Houston Chronicle. “You should have heard that speech he said at practice. It kind of gave us chills. It was a good speech. It’s great to have a leader like J.J. Watt back. Let’s go.”

Before his injury, Watt was having a fantastic season for the Texans. If he can get back to the form he showed off earlier this season, then Houston’s defense will experience a big boost.
