The Houston Texans lost the rock of their team for the season during Sunday’s win over the Oakland Raiders.

Stud pass rusher and future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt suffered a torn pectoral in the game. It was almost immediately announced that he’d be out for the remainder of the season.

More so than this impacting Houston’s Super Bowl chances, it has a dramatic individual impact on Watt. He’s one of the most-respected players in the game.

After reports of his injury started trickling in, Watt took to social media with a sobering message.

The simple fact that Watt feels like he let his team and fans down is eye-opening.

It just goes to show us how much football and the entire Houston community means to the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Watt finishes the season having recorded 20 quarterback hits and four sacks. This is the third time in four years that Watt has seen a season cut short to injury. Just brutal stuff.
