Drew Brees threw his third touchdown Monday night to move into first place on the all-time touchdown passing list. Then, a flag was thrown for pass interference.

Of course it was pass interference. It had to be pass interference, right?

Tre’Quan Smith was caught pushing off his defender to get open for the touchdown. And the refs correctly assessed the penalty. But in the process, they also denied Saints fans the chance to cheer for their legendary quarterback.

And as the joy turned to rage, Saints fans chanted, “screw the refs” inside Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Saints fans on social media were pretty upset as well.
