Report: ‘Concern’ Matthew Stafford could miss Sunday’s game against Bears

Matthew Stafford may actually not play Sunday when the Detroit Lions take on the Chicago Bears, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports “there is concern” about his hip and back injuries.

This would be a major development. Stafford is one of the NFL’s true iron men and has played through some big injuries in the past. So, if he is held out you have to know he’s dealing with significant issues.

Additionally, Stafford has been playing lights out of late, passing for 1,112 yards with 10 touchdowns the past three games.

Should Stafford miss Sunday’s game against the Bears, then the Lions will have to rely on Jeff Driskel.

So, if he’s out, the Lions will be hard pressed to duplicate what he provides.
