After a week of rest and rehabilitation last week, Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer wouldn’t rule out wide receiver Adam Thielen’s potential return to the field in Week 12.
Despite the Pro Bowl receiver missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Zimmer wouldn’t close the door to Thielen suiting up against the Denver Broncos.
Thielen attempted to play through the hamstring injury in Week 9 before quickly aggravating the injury and being sidelined for the remainder of the game. While the team doesn’t believe it’s a long-term issue, it could still lead to him being sidelined for multiple weeks.
While Zimmer is leaving open the possibility of a return this week, the Vikings could exercise caution and rest Thielen this week if he misses practice on Friday. It would then give him the bye week to rest and rehabilitate his hamstring more, before returning in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks.
