The Washington State Cougars made a defensive change this week when defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys resigned. Arizona State is quickly proving the change didn’t fix the Cougars’ defense.

After already burning Washington State’s defense for a 40-yard touchdown earlier in the quarter, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk did it again. The senior receiver hauled in a quick slant then hit the jets with a sprint into the end zone for the 86-yard touchdown.

Washington State’s coordinator change came with a plan to move players around and experiment with different positions. Aiyuk is already showing why that might not have been the best idea.
