Washington State defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys resigns

The Washington State football program will be without defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys the rest of the season, as Claeys resigned on Friday.

With Claeys out of the picture, Roc Bellantoni and Darcel McBath are taking over as intern co-defensive coordinators, per Kyle Bonagura of ESPN.

Mike Leach released a statement announcing the move: “We appreciate Tracy’s efforts the past year and a half and wish him the best going forward.”

The Cougars have certainly struggled on the defensive side of the ball recently, giving up 105 points the past two games — both losses.

Washington State has a bye this weekend. At 3-2 on the season, they will now prepare for a road game against Arizona State in Week 7.
