The San Francisco 49ers drove down the field without much of an issue in their first possession of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Looking to go 7-0, San Francisco had an extra bounce in its step. That’s primarily because of the blockbuster trade for Emmanuel Sanders early last week.
The two-time Pro Bowler put a pin on the opening drive with his first score as a member of the 49ers, a four-yard touchdown strike from Jimmy Garoppolo.
This has to have the 49ers and their fans grinning ear to ear. Even at 6-0 on the season, San Francisco knew that it needed an upgrade in Sanders.
Having averaged nearly 1,000 yards over the past five seasons, San Francisco got that. And it culminated in his first score as a member of the red and gold.
