The Dallas Cowboys are coming off their third consecutive loss after starting the season 3-0.
In fact, their most recent defeat at the hands of the previously winless New York Jets on Sunday has Dallas at pretty much a five-year low under long-time head coach Jason Garrett.
It has led to further rumblings that Garrett might not be long for the job in Big D. Sure we’ve read these rumors at every turn since he took over back in 2010, but something feels different right now.
Heading into an all-important Week 7 outing against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, rumblings from Dallas suggest that Garrett’s job security is on thin ice.
This is the equivalent of a source indicating that Sunday night’s game against another 3-3 team is pretty much a must win for Garrett.
The timing is also interesting in that Dallas has a bye after this week. Any in-season coaching change would likely occur then.
Adding to this is the fact that these Cowboys have a tremendously difficult remaining schedule. That includes a ton of games against good teams.

A loss to move the Cowboys to 3-4 heading into their bye could very well lead to a coaching change.
This report does nothing to refute that possibility.
