It did not take a full half for Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to hear it from his fans in his return from a shoulder injury.
Trubisky has been out since suffering said injury. He made his return at home against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
It did not go swimmingly initially. Trubisky completed just 10 of his first 17 passes for 70 yards.
Despite teammate Cordarrelle Patterson making the game close, Trubisky was not a popular man in the Windy City. In fact, Bears fans on hand at Soldier Field could be heard loudly booing the third-year quarterback.
There’s certainly something to Trubisky’s struggles. He entered Sunday’s action having put up just three touchdowns in four starts and averaging 147 yards per game.
With an elite-level defense, all the Bears need Trubisky to do is manage the game. Unfortunately, his regression as a third-year player has not led to the quarterback being able to do even that.
