Yankees’ SP Luis Severino to make season debut on Tuesday

New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino will be welcomed back to the New York Yankees rotation after missing nearly the entire season with shoulder and lat issues.

Severino is scheduled to rejoin the team for their series against Toronto and then slide back in as a starter on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium against the Los Angeles Angels.

The 25-year-old’s return will be a welcome addition for New York. While a very late start to the season and a push to get him back this month prevented Severino from being stretched out to throw six-plus innings, he could reach three innings in a start.

Severino posted a 3.39 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 191.1 innings in 2018. He also struck out 220 batters with only 46 walks allowed.
