Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie linebacker Devin White went down with a knee injury during Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Thankfully, the No. 5 overall pick appears to have avoided a catastrophic knee injury.
Bruce Arians told reporters on Friday that White appears to have a Grade 1 MCL sprain and said the rookie is “day to day” and is walking around without a brace.
This is the best possible news. When White went down with the knee injury, it looked bad. He stayed on the ground for a while and didn’t return to action once leaving the field.
Now, he may not miss much time at all. That would be a boon for Tampa Bay’s defense. The former LSU star has been solid so far in his first year, tallying eight tackles and showing flashes of his rare abilities.
