This is not what anyone wanted to see early on during Thursday night’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers.
With a wet field that included a weather delay, conditions were not great inside Bank of America Stadium in Carolina.
Unfortunately, the early portion of this game also included Buccaneers rookie No. 5 overall pick, linebacker Devin White, leaving early in the first quarter with a knee injury.
Tampa Bay almost immediately ruled him out for the remainder of the game. That’s usually not a great sign.
White is being relied on to play a huge role as a rookie. The LSU product is seen as one of the better inside linebacker prospects to enter the league in some time.
In fact, he’s the highest drafted player at this position since Aaron Curry back in 2009. White recorded six tackles in his NFL regular season debut last week.
We’ll have further updates as they become available.
