Angels’ Mike Trout to undergo season-ending surgery

The Los Angeles Angels will be without star outfielder Mike Trout for the final two weeks of the season.

Los Angeles announced on Sunday that Trout will undergo surgery to remove the Morton’s neuroma in his right foot.

This injury has cost Trout a handful of games recently. There’s really no reason for him to play through it with the Angels already eliminated from playoff contention.

Trout will end his season hitting .291 with 45 homers, 104 RBI, a .438 on-base percentage and a 1.083 OPS. He’ll be in the AL MVP conversation when all is said and done.
