If you thought it was all offseason hype surrounding the Cleveland Browns, we’re here to inform you that was a mistake.
Second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield got the start in the team’s preseason opener against the Washington Redskins Thursday evening.
He responded by leading the team on a seven-play, 89-yard drive to open the game. Mayfield connected on 5-of-6 passes for 77 yards, including this 24-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Rashard Higgins.
What an absolutely ridiculous pass from Mr. Mayfield there. He split two defenders and threw an absolute dart.
This opening possession was made better by the fact that Cleveland ran a no-huddle offense. It went 89 yards in just over two minutes of action.
Just wow.
