After being a part of so many historic moments with the franchise, point guard Tony Parker will experience one more iconic moment on Nov. 11 with the San Antonio Spurs.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, San Antonio will retire Parker’s No. 9 before they face the Boston Celtics on Nov. 9 at the AT&T Center.
Parker retired in June following an 18-year career with 17 seasons spent in San Antonio. He became a fan favorite in the city and a legend in the organization as a six-time All-Star who played a pivotal role in winning four NBA titles.
San Antonio honored Parker with a touching tribute during the season in his only game against the Spurs as an opponent. Now the organization will honor him again with the recognition that he certainly deserves.
It should be a special moment when he is met on the court by head coach Gregg Popovich and assistant coach Tim Duncan.
