The Oakland Raiders will spend one more year in Northern California before making their way to the desert, where a brand new stadium awaits their arrival. On Monday, news broke that the shiny new digs has an official name.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the venue will be called “Allegiant Stadium.”
The name was made public in a ceremony Monday.
“Representatives of Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Co., parent company to Allegiant Air, were among the dignitaries signing the beam in a brief topping-out ceremony marking completion of the highest point of the $1.9 billion, 65,000-seat indoor stadium that will be the home of the Las Vegas Raiders in less than a year.”
Allegiant Travel Co. is said to be paying between $20-25 million per year to have its name on the stadium, per the report.
