To nobody’s surprise, Jalen Hurts has been officially named the starting quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners heading into the 2019 season.
The team announced the decision on its official website Monday.
Hurts transferred to Oklahoma this past winter by way of Alabama, where he started for two full seasons before being supplanted by Tua Tagovailoa. As the starter for the Crimson Tide, Hurts led them to a 26-2 record, totaling 7,602 yards and 71 touchdowns.
Now the undisputed leader of the Sooners’ high-powered offense, Hurts should be a Heisman contender this season.
