Marqise Lee opened training camp on the PUP list due to a knee injury, but on Saturday the Jacksonville Jaguars announced he’s he’s been cleared to practice.
This is good news, because the latest reports on Lee suggested he might not be ready to play at the start of the regular season.
If Lee can get into playing shape and stays healthy, then it stands to reason he actually could be good to go for Week 1 when Jacksonville takes on the Kansas City Chiefs. However, given that he is finally getting into action roughly a year after tearing his ACL, the Jaguars may want to bring Lee along slowly.
Having Lee in the lineup would certainly give Jacksonville’s offense a better chance to thrive out of the gate this season. Appearing in 14 games during the 2017 season, he caught 56 passes for 702 yards and three touchdowns.
