The Houston Texans finally traded disgruntled pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, moving him to the Seattle Seahawks for a relative ham sandwich.
As astutely pointed out by NFL insider Benjamin Allbright, the two players Houston got in return for Clowney — a top-50 player in the league — were likely not going to survive Seattle’s final cut Saturday.
This is a fantastic deal for the Seahawks. For Houston? Not so much. Fans and analysts reacted on social media accordingly.
For what it’s worth, the Texans don’t have a general manager, which Stephen Cohen knew — hence the tongue-in-cheek comment. They did have a general manager, Brian Gaine, who had done a pretty solid job last year outside of the team’s offensive line woes.
