Oakland Raiders receiver Antonio Brown has lost his second grievance for his helmet, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
Rapoport also notes that “No further proceedings are expected.”
This isn’t a particularly stunning report. The independent arbitrator that ruled against Brown the first time was overseeing the second grievance, so it was going to take a minor miracle for Brown to see a different result.
Last week after Brown filed the second grievance, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden told reporters that the receiver was “all in” with a new, NFL certified helmet. Now Brown will have a chance to prove the coach who has backed him to the hilt right.
At the least, “Hard Knocks” should get some juicy footage out of this ordeal. Hopefully, Brown just accepts his fate and gets back to the business of boomin’ on the football field.
