Kawhi Leonard changed the complexion of the entire NBA during his one year as a member of the Toronto Raptors.
He earned the NBA Finals MVP in leading Toronto to its first ever title. Unfortunately for the Raptors, Leonard’s time as a member of the team came to an end early Saturday morning when he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Following Leonard’s decision, the Raptors paid tribute to him as well as former Toronto forward Danny Green, who ultimately signed with the Lakers.
Team president Masai Ujiri also released a statement.
This is a solid move by the Raptors. They could have easily gone in another direction after Leonard spurned them for Los Angeles.
They didn’t. And it goes to show us the class this organization has.
